There is an easy way to stop online propaganda

Al-Qaeda takes its fight to the internet
The American government is failing to counter Islamists' online propaganda that could propel militancy into the next generation, experts say.
From the Middle East, Asia and Europe, extremists have built an extensive internet library of sophisticated texts on the ideology that underpins violence against the West and other enemies, Western analysts and intelligence officials said on Saturday.

"It's a steady, stealthy indoctrination aimed at creating a whole new generation of jihadists. And scandalously, it is unopposed," said Stephen Ulph, who studies the Islamists' use of the internet for the Jamestown Foundation, a Washington think tank.

See, there’s an easy way to stop online propaganda isn’t there folks? It’s called ‘stop-doing-whatever-it-is-you-are-doing-that-is-fucking-them-off-so-much-that-they-want-to-kill-you’ – how about let’s start by getting out of their part of the world and force Israel to stop occupying Palestinian land? The reality is that these crazy fanatics are building more and more support – if we don’t stop giving them justifications, then the violence will only become more and more extreme – getting angry as Stephen Ulph does from the Jamestown Foundation misses the point that we in the West hand Islamic fundamentalists all the reasons they need to use violence against us.

I don't like the term Al Qaeda. Why? 'cause the organisation doesn't exist. Never has. Separate groups of people from various countries with no connection through out the 90s mostly, decided to resist American hegemony. The neo-cons decided to invent a group called 'Al Qaeda' to demonise any group of people using illegitimate or legitimate means to liberate themselves from imperialism. We see this method being re-used in Iraq- where a legitimate national resistance against an occupation was first labeled as Al Qaeda. This narrative could only work so far. Now they're crazed insurgents. In Afghanistan, any resistance against the occupation is being labeled as 'Taliban' and Al Qaeda influenced. This is just one of the many means in delegitimising decolonisation movements in the region.

-Anti-Flag.

Actually the concept was promoted by Richard Clarke, who was the first senior US official to draw significant attention to Al Qaeda. And he is hardly a neo-con.

Al Qaeda doesn't exist...oh brother we've got a gooden here....Osama talks merely in metaphors now does he.

I agree with what Bomber has written about the pull out of Palestinian lands, but where do you draw the line? 1967 borders (which I'd go for) or the whole hog. Iran wants a vote to decide control of the area...now that ain't gonna happen, 'White' South Africans are the only group to vote themselves out of power, I can't see the Jews who finally have a state giving their's up. A vote would be getting rid of the Jewish state and I'm against that plain and simple and will not support it.

I'd be all for going back to the pre-67 borders as I dont think a democracy should be conquering territory and can't believe some people still think in terms of Greater Israel?! But I don't think the solution is merely in going back to pre-67 borders, or the US "leaving" the region. If Hamas wants to accept Israel's right ot exist under pre-67 borders then I'll back such a move, but I remain to be convinced. They were attacked on the pre-67 terms, so I'm not sure merely going back to them will solve it.

Hmm, if we are not to lump all muslims under one banner, then should we also question the premise that all one billion plus muslims in 30+ countries are all fighting for the same thing, Palestine.
