Israel starts Group Punishment of Palestinians

Alt Tv/Fleet FM Breakfast News Comment
Israel starts Group Punishment of Palestinians
The Israeli government has declared the Gaza Strip a "hostile entity" in response to the continued rocket attacks by Palestinian militants there. Israeli officials told the BBC fuel and electricity supplies could be targeted, but not water, food or medicine. The militant group Hamas, which controls Gaza, said such a move would be considered a declaration of war.
Hmmm, I wonder why Gaza is a ‘hostile entity’, how about a 40 year brutal repressive occupation by Israel that is defended by bullshit ‘self defence’ claims by the people with the biggest guns. Israel has sown all the seeds for this hateful wine.

ROFL common sense

if I am correct and at the time the land was unoccupied

HAHAHAHA

Do you actually believe that.... OMG people are stupid.

How about the Palistines who had lived there for ummmm 2000 years before that? Is that un occupied I dont know not really people are they...

Yes Jews have had an unbelievably shitty deal in the past but doesn't mean you can practise near genocide on another group.

The fact is Israel has gone to far, their actions are justifiable into the 70s but the last decade and a half they can not be.

Lebannon anyone?

Strange that England owned the land from the crusades and gifted it to the Jews very strange

Ok I can solve this

Give them Israel. Cool. But the trade off is this - no Muslim or Arab can live in the west. You want your land - take it. But get the fuck out of our part of the world. Then develop alternatives to oil so we have no reason to do business with them. Then see how happy they are...

Why is it that all the Muslims want to come and live in the West, with our benefits, but there are next to no westerners who want to move there?

Ilan Pappe is an Israeli historian and senior lecturer at Haifa University. He's also Academic Director of the Research Institute for Peace at Givat Haviva and Chair of the Emil Touma Institute for Palestinian Studies. Pappe is an expert on Israel and Zionism and the Palestinians' Right of Return to their homeland, is considered "an honourable academic with integrity and conscience,"

In his book "The Ethnic Cleansing Of Palestine" which is based on access to material now available from British Mandate period and Israeli archives he writes how the Israeli state came into being with blood on its hands from lands forcibly seized from its Palestinian inhabitants who'd lived on it for thousands of years. Since the 1940s, they were ethnically cleansed and slaughtered without mercy so their homeland would become one for Jews alone.
In his preface, Pappe writes about the "Red House" in Tel-Aviv that became headquarters for the Hagana, the dominant Zionist underground paramilitary militia during the British Mandate period in Palestine between 1920 and 1948 when the Jewish state came into being. He details how David Ben-Gurion, Israel's first prime minister, met with leading Zionists and young Jewish military officers on March 10, 1948 to finalize plans to ethnically cleanse Palestine that unfolded in the months that followed including "large-scale (deadly serious)intimidation; laying siege to and bombarding villages and population centres; setting fire to homes, properties and goods; expulsion; demolition; and finally, planting mines among the rubble to prevent any of the expelled inhabitants from returning."

More than 700,000 Palestinians were driven from their homes and lands by an orchestrated campaign of terror.

This is now a matter of public record.

Uninformed observer.

How about the 30,000 Jews who refuse to leave Iran despite the $60,000 incentive offered by Israel along with free land in the occupied West Bank?

Sorry every one my mistake "the British Mandate of Palestine" was where england comes into play I got a few wires crossed however in the Crusaded England did contol Jerusalem for about 100 years.

I thought that they had always been able to hold ground here but this is not the case as they were unable to attract migrants from Europe

the British Mandate of Palestine
operated from 1923 - 1946

Tell me you're not going to fire a rocket or two when foreigners come and drive you into 20% of what was once your native land, kill 10 of your people for every one you manage to hit then blockade you in on your last patch and bomb your power, water, your fishing fleet and most of your kids.

Anonymous20/9/07 9:38 PM - tell me you aren't going to take some action when someone is indiscriminately firing rockets at your civilian areas....

Still no comment on the Lebanese slaughter of 222 in the Nahr al-Bared Palestinian refugee camp? I'm sure if it was Israel who had been doing the killing, you'd all be going fucking crazy about the evil zionist terrorist murdering innocent freedom fighters, there'd be wide spread condemnation from the UN , seething and ululating galore from Arab nations, threats to wipe Israel off the map from our good friends in Iran.....
But seeing it was Lebanon, well who really, honestly gives a fuck about Palestinians eh? They are nothing but a stick to beat Israel with, when it suits comfortable middle-class socialists in the west.

The Palestinians are the "stick to beat Israel with"

Yeah riiight.

To be perfectly honest, I don't know enough about the Nahr al-Bared affair and I shouldn't comment but it looks to me like the Lebanese Army (which answers to the U.S./Iraeli puppet Government of Lebanon and represents about 20-30% of the people) - bombing the shit out of a refugee camp on the pretext that there are terrorists there.

As such I see it as more of the same - same oppressor, same oppressed.

......... and 'informed obsever' should change their user name to 'facist in wonderland'.

cause little ol 'informed observer' is our version of a fanatical muslim.

Every society has its lunatic fringe .

Twilight Zone / The children of 5767

By Gideon Levy

It was a pretty quiet year, relatively speaking. Only 457 Palestinians and 10 Israelis were killed, according to the B'Tselem human rights organization, including the victims of Qassam rockets. Fewer casualties than in many previous years. However, it was still a terrible year: 92 Palestinian children were killed (fortunately, not a single Israeli child was killed by Palestinians, despite the Qassams). One-fifth of the Palestinians killed were children and teens - a disproportionate, almost unprecedented number. The Jewish year of 5767. Almost 100 children, who were alive and playing last New Year, didn't survive to see this one.
