The opposite - all the surrounding areas were subject to the Apartheid regime.

Lesotho is hardly a rousing success story though is it?

One might also compare the things that help make a viable independent nation. Like population, size, natural resources, and industry. For example: 2 million people vs maybe 30k or Diamonds vs Trees. Of course, there are some exceptions but Tuhoe is hardly a new Lichtenstein.

I think the real common factor between the two is that they both require large amounts of "foreign" welfare to keep them afloat.

Would two-thirds have to vote to leave like Tokelau?

Three simple words

Let it go

Or extended version

It was 167 years ago Michael (insert b4 you were born) let it go.

10% of the population (excuse me if I am wrong) with maybe .1% of that 10% wanting independence from the crown, ever going to happen? No.

Focus on grievences that have a chance of being addressed and fight tooth and nail (figuratively) to get it, you have my backing.

But picking up a gun / demanding an independent country well seriously you then fall into the minority that quite frankly I have no time for.

Might of interupted this statement wrong but its what I get from two pictures.

Together with Australia we have sent troops all over the south pacific where we still have 1 single, solitary remaining colony Tokelau.Let us respect their wishes to stay attached our umbilical cord and forego any further hurried votes on this issue for the U.N's sake!

We have become like Britain is now as a snidey subordinate taking orders so servilely to the head terrorista Bush.

Just like another sort of deputy sheriff in the Solomons and Tonga and anywhere else the locals want a good clean out of the local shopkeepers.

Ninjas and other so called police styled paramilitaries dressed up like goons in balaclavas and semi-automatic machine guns are still causing trouble where-ever they go throughout this seemingly ethnically troubled region as well.

This has caused concern and disruption for the locally elected politicians in the region defending their own authority and Sovereignty like Sogavare at the Pacific Islands Forum.

The Australians and New Zealanders deployed overseas in their countries now say they have been invited by the likes of the archaic toy soldier loving King of Tonga to suppress dissent and calls for change by Pohiva and his supporters back home in epsom crashing cars and burning them out into the kings mansion. But the peoples movement has been suppressed with our foreign ministers approval and forced based assistance in Tonga.

Our ongoing support for the other low flame in Afghanistan and several rotations of troops in their hundreds now shows that our Nationalism based New Zealand First, United Future, Progressives and Labour Coalition Government support the murderous and ongoing slaughter of so-called Insurgent forces.

Conflagrations in pakistan and suicide bombers are a rapidly rising hot spot for our troops across the border with the S.A.S much appreciated by the Bush Administration and the Republican party in general who had decided to end the long standing dispute over our so-called newly independent foreign policy.
