2 swallows don't make a summer and 12 people at a hui doesn't make for a consultative process

Attendance at first water rights hui: 12 Only about a dozen people are in attendance at a hui over water rights in Hamilton.

This entire pretense of consultation is aimed at blunting the inevitable legal action that will take place. It's asking Maori to play along with a pantomime that the Government have already decided the outcome of.

Isn't it amazing that Key will grant water rights to his farmer mates by destroying Ecan, but won't let Maori collectively own their water?

John Tamihere and Willie Jackson's sudden promotion onto the Maori Council show that they mean business.
