Citizen A with Chris Trotter & Selwyn Manning

Citizen A with Chris Trotter & Selwyn Manning

Issue 1: How elegant is John Key's state owned asset sales solution?

Issue 2: This week it's stopping welfare for those with arrest warrants - how much more milage can National get out of bennie bashing?

and Issue 3 tonight: Other than being mistaken for slavishly devoting NZ to America's future wars, how is NZ playing America off against China in the new cold war friction point of the Pacific?

Citizen A broadcasts 7pm Thursday Triangle TV

For people who have not been tried in a court of law Chris Trotter asks, "on what possible legal basis could she withhold benefits?" - Why has this not been covered better in the media? Does this open the government up to some kind of liabilty that could cost even more money? I don't know but it seems like a risk of public money.

"Using talkback radio as a forum to litmus test their ideas" - bang on boy. This is why I watch this show now. I don't agree with most of what you say but it certainly is stimulating to hear your intelligent argument. Keep up the good work.

It would be on the basis of changing the law to make it legal to do so, that's how. It would be simply a matter of putting something in the Social Security Act that allows benefits to be stopped if there's a warrant out for the beneficiary's arrest together with rules for doing it and when it applied - easy. This wouldn't make it right, of course, just legal.

Hey there,
Just to let you know there was a woman on Radio Live tonight. She had a mental breakdown or something (sorry I tune out as I am not as empathetic as most of you) allegedly after the stress of dealing with Work and Income and not getting her entitlements.

She was told not to contact Paula Bennett's office again! Interesting given the Citizen A commentary.

PS I hate your stupid capcha system.
